The Authority’s publications, such as MARITRADE which provides useful material on well researched topics in international trade and maritime law, THE ADMIRAL, which is a ready reference material for judges, maritime law practitioners, and students and the SHIPPING REVIEW, which provide information on current developments on the industry are as informative as they are instructive.
The mission of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority is to be the state of-the-art organisation utilizing its rich human resource capacity to effectively and efficiently manage the demand side of shipping with a view to protecting and promoting the interest of the Ghanaian Shipper in relation to port, ship, inland transportation problems and the provision of ancillary shipping services.
At the Ghana Shippers’ Authority, we are committed to developing novel solutions for all shipping problems and other facilities to facilitate the business of shipping in Ghana. This is reflected in the Authority’s MOBISHIP facility which enables importers access ship arrival dates on their mobile phones, the TOLL FREE access to the Authority which provides real time information to shippers faced with shipment problems and the Complaints and Support Units located at the various entry points to assist shippers.
Our search for “The New Software” has led us to developing better ways of providing shipper services at close quarters with pioneering promotion and support services.
In the rapidly changing maritime industry, with high competition, merges and acquisitions and the growth of formidable alliances and partnerships strong and vibrant shippers organisation have become more relevant than ever before. Our shippers (importers and exporters) have come to expect of the Authority not only the delivery of benchmark services but shipping solutions beyond best practice. The Authority has demonstrated its commitment to providing these solutions towards the realization of the expectation of our shippers, the shipping industry, government and the general public.
The Ghana Shippers’ Authority has come to be associated with professionalism, the delivery of excellent shipping services with the aim of reducing cost and improving competitiveness.
There is no doubt that at the Ghana Shippers’ Authority we have pursued our mission with zeal, dedication, imagination and skill that has recently led the Authority to winning the Award of Best Maritime Agency for Trade Facilitation in West Africa.
